Led by Randall Throckmorton’s distinctive high-voiced singing and original songs, the trio brings together Tom Wadzinski’s deft mandolin and Christopher Thompson’s inventive piano in an intimate, drumless acoustic setting.
Musically, they inhabit a strange crossroads where Jazz Age parlor songs, Appalachian folk, classical art song, torch songs, and early psychedelia converge. Originals mingle with forgotten melodies and lesser-heard songs, drifting between the playful, dark, dreamy, and strange. Expect curious lyrics, unexpected turns, playful improvisation, and the occasional long-lost chord you didn’t realize you were missing—a performance that can feel like being drawn into the horn of a Victrola or the amber glow of a late-night radio dial.
Multi-instrumentalists Christopher Thompson and Tom Wadzinski round out the trio, shaping its sound with layered vocals and musicianship that lend unexpected textures to a repertoire equal parts driving and acrobatic.
Christopher plays bass and piano with Stephanie Was & The Secret Izz and Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret and Burlesque.
Tom is deeply active in the Bluegrass and Oldtime community, and a mandolinist and singer with Blue Groove Bluegrass.
Randall Throckmorton is known for work with the Deadly Nightshade Family Singers, Dreamland Faces, The Selby Avenue Syncopators, and Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret and Burlesque.
