Throckmorton Trio
The Throckmorton Trio inhabits a strange, beautiful crossroads where Jazz Age parlor songs drift into early British psychedelia. Crooner-composer Randall Throckmorton draws listeners toward the Victrola horn, conjuring Tin Pan Alley melodies, curious lyrics, and the occasional long-lost chord.
His songs move between jaunty and dark, dreamy and intimate, carried by a voice that is both nimble and expressive. He is also known for work with the Deadly Nightshade Family Singers, Dreamland Faces, and Le Cirque Rouge Burlesque.
Multi-instrumentalists Christopher Thompson and Tom Wadzinski shape the trio's sound with their own vocals, adventurous arrangements, deft solos, and finely woven harmonies, creating unexpected textures throughout a driving yet dreamlike repertoire.
Christopher Thompson currently plays bass and piano with Steph Was & The Secret Izz and Tom Wadzinski is a mandolinist with Blue Groove Bluegrass.
The trio blends originals with a wide-ranging selection of covers, from classical art songs and Appalachian ballads to art-rock and torch songs, maintaining a distinctive intimacy centered around Randall's vintage crooning style.
