The Throckmorton Trio inhabits a strange, beautiful crossroads where Jazz Age parlor songs drift into British psychedelia. Crooner-composer Randall Throckmorton draws listeners toward the Victrola horn, conjuring Tin Pan Alley melodies, curious lyrics, and the occasional long-lost chord.
Randall is also known for work with the Deadly Nightshade Family Singers, Dreamland Faces, The Selby Avenue Syncopators and Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret and Burlesque.
Multi-instrumentalists Christopher Thompson and Tom Wadzinski shape the trio's sound with their vocals, adventuresomeness, and deft solos, creating unexpected textures throughout a driving yet dreamlike repertoire.
Christopher Thompson currently plays bass and piano with Stephanie Was & The Secret Izz and Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret.
Tom Wadzinski is very active in the Bluegrass and Oldtime community and a mandolinist and singer with Blue Groove Bluegrass.
The trio blends originals with a wide range of lesser performed covers, from classical art songs and Appalachian ballads to art-rock and torch songs, maintaining a distinctive intimacy centered around Randall's vintage crooning style.
Their original songs move between the jaunty and dark, dreamy and intimate, carried by a voice that is unmistakable and expressive.
